From the YouTube Description:
John Rossant, Founder and Chairman of the New Cities Foundation discusses the successes and failures in cities.
In most cities today, urban development is decided at a governmental level rather then by those who live in it: the citizens. Rossant believes this could be the number one reason for the shortcomings of cities, and suggests that a people-centric approach is needed.
According to Rossant, ICT will also have a role to play in how cities develop. Networked cities attract young talent, which cities need to stay competitive. If a city lags behind in services connected by ICT, they will suffer from a failure to attract talented people and in turn find it difficult to stay competitive on a global scale.
